Man arrested following serious assault in Tallaght

Gardaí investigating a serious assault which occurred in Killinarden Heights in Tallaght on Sunday, August 18 have arrested a man.

The assault occurred close to Killinarden Community Centre in which a man in his 30s was rushed to Tallaght University Hospital where he remains in a serious but in a stable condition.

A man in his 20s was arrested by gardai and is currently detained at a Garda Station in the DMR under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984

A statement released by gardai said: “Gardaí investigating a serious assault which occurred in Killinarden Heights, Tallaght on 18th August 2024, have arrested a man.

“The man, aged in his 20s, is currently detained at a Garda Station in the DMR under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

“The injured man remains in hospital at this time. He is in a serious but stable condition”.

Investigations are ongoing say gardai.
