Man charged after €220K of cannabis seized in Lucan
A MAN is due to appear in court this morning following the seizure of €220,000 of herbal cannabis in Lucan yesterday.
According to a Garda statement issued, approximately €220,000 of herbal cannabis was seized and one man (40s) arrested during the course of an operation in Lucan on Thursday, July 25.
In a statement released, a Garda spokesperson said: “The seizure of approximately 11kgs of herbal cannabis was made by Revenue officers in the Lucan area of Co. Dublin, as a result of a joint operations by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Q District Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.
“A man in his 40s was arrested and he is currently being detained at a West Dublin Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.”
Gardai since confirmed that the man in his forties arrested in connection with the seizure has been charged and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District court this morning, Friday, July 26.
