Man charged in connection with Tallaght cash and drug seizure
GARDAI investigating the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Tallaght area carried out a search of a house in the Cushlawn Park area of Tallaght on Thursday, August 20.
According to a Garda statement released today, €30,000 in cash and €4,240 in drugs, all subject to analysis, were discovered and seized during the search.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardai investigating the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Tallaght area carried out a search of a house in the Cushlawn Park area of Tallaght on 20/08/2020.
"Cocaine worth €2,800 and Cannabis worth €1,440 were discovered and seized during the search.
"€30,000 in cash was also seized on suspicion of being the proceeds of crime.
“Local Gardai will liaise with the Criminal Assets Bureau in this regard.
“All drugs seized are subject to analysis.”
The spokesperson added: “A man, aged in 20s, was arrested at the scene.
“He was detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
“He has since been charged in relation to this incident and is due to appear before Tallaght District Court on the morning of 07/09/2020.”
