Man dies after stabbing incident

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following the fatal stabbing of a man that occurred in Tallaght on Tuesday evening, August 10.

An Garda Siochána were notified of the incident at Mac Uilliam Road.

On arrival at the scene, Gardai discovered a man aged 25-years-old seriously injured following a “serious assault” at around 7.15pm.

The man was removed to Tallaght University Hospital with serious life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead later this evening.

A second man in his 40s was also injured and removed to Tallaght University Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

In a statement released by a Garda spokesperson tonight, they said: “The scene is currently preserved and the State Pathologist has been notified. 

“A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow Wednesday 11th August, 2021.

“Gardai are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the incident or were in the area between 6.30p.m. and 7.15p.m. or any passing taxis with dash cam footage to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

“Investigations ongoing.”
