Man in Garda custody after stand-off in Clondalkin
A MAN has been arrested and is currently in Garda custody following an armed stand-off in Clondalkin yesterday.
The stand-off between a man and gardai started at around 9am on Wednesday morning, October 17, in St Mark’s estate.
According to a Garda statement released this morning, the incident, which continued all day, was resolved peacefully.
The Garda statement added: “A Taser device was used and the matter has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC).
“One individual (male) was involved in this incident and was arrested and is currently in Garda custody.”
Gardai had requested a media blackout yesterday morning when their operation began.
