Man turns up in court wearing shorts and T-shirt told: ‘You are not going to the beach’

A JUDGE has told a Ballyfermot man who turned up in court wearing shorts and a T-shirt that he was “not going to the beach”.
Judge Miriam Walsh in Blanchards-town Court told Thomas Greene that he was in a court and that he must be dressed properly the next time he appears before her.
Greene, aged 24, with an address at Elmdale Park, Ballyfermot, is charged with dangerous driving, no insurance and no driving licence at Fonthill Road, Clondalkin, on May 26, 2017.
The presenting sergeant gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution by certificate for Greene.
Seeing Greene’s attire, Judge Walsh told him: “You are not going to the beach, this is a court. If I have to sit up here wearing black, you surely have to wear proper dress in court”.
Granting free legal aid, she adjourned the case for three weeks.
Judge Walsh told Greene: “You won’t be going to the beach next time you are coming here. Proper dress next time, please.”
