“It was the perfect day for it so both clubs had good attendance on the line.”

“We (Peamount) dominated from the start.

“I don’t think Malahide even got a shot on goal to be honest.

“We just kept missing opportunities, constantly banging on the door but we broke through on two occasions and secured the win,” he said.

“I’ve been manager of this side since U9’s and I have only three lads on the team today that was there back then.”

“After coming second the league last season and losing the league cup to shells in 2022, its great for this team to have something to show for all their efforts.”

Battling for the top spot in the DDSL Premier Division, Peamount and Malahide are neck and neck at the top, as Healy and his men look to secure the double.

“There is big things happening for these lads. We are heading over to Italy in May for the u17’s Lazio cup where we are placed in the same group as Napoloi, so that will be huge for the lads,” Healy told The Echo.

“Otherwise, we are just focusing on winning the league now.

“Super win today in the cup but it would be great to do the double!”
