Memorial soccer match held to remember character Keith
A MEMORIAL soccer match was recently held in Sacred Heart Football Club in Killinarden in memory of former Thomas Davis GAA Club coach Keith Cusack.
Keith, also known as ‘Sauce’ and ‘Puggy’, passed away last February at age 44, and before he passed away, he was a popular coach with the women’s minor B team in Thomas Davis.
A match between Tallaght Community School Class of 96 Selection and a Castletymon All-Star Team was held on June 8 in tribute to the father of two from Glenview and Seskin View.
The TCS side emerged victorious with a final score of 5-2, and the players were cheered on by Keith’s wife, Suzanne, daughters Jessica and Sophia, and his mother, Aileen.
The match was a fitting tribute to Keith, as even though he was a dedicated GAA man, he was also a passionate Liverpool FC supporter.
“Keith was a much-loved character and is a huge loss to his close circle of friends and family, a true football man,” said one of Keith’s close friends.
“It was only right that he be honoured this way.
“A brilliant turn out from friends and family made for a very special day and a fitting tribute for Keith (Sauce) was had.”
Keith Cusack of Seskin View Road and Glenview Park, Tallaght, passed away on Sunday, February 18.
Keith, loving husband of Suzanne, adored dad to Jessica and Sophia and dear son of Aileen and the late David.
Keith’s funeral Mass was held in St Mary’s Priory in Tallaght village on February 23, and afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium.
