THE CAMPAIGN to set up a Men’s Shed in Lucan is up and running following a successful meeting in Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club.

Hosted by Councillor Liona O’Toole, five men turned up on the night. While that may not sound like a lot, Cllr O’Toole begs to disagree.

She told The Echo: “The Men’s Shed meeting went very well. Five men turned up on the night. We were told that any more than two turning up is good, as all you need are a few good men to get the thing started”.

Cllr O’Toole says that there was lots of interesting ideas on the night, suggestions such as making things, fixing things, doing something for the community, arranging outings, bringing in speakers, form organisations, and much more.

She added: “We were delighted to have the facilities of Lucan Sarsfields to help with holding the meetings, so a big thank you to them.”

They are going to have another meeting after Easter and have set up an email address and a Facebook page so that anybody who is interested can get in touch. Anyone interested can email Mensshedlucan2017@gmail.com. The Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/ mensshed.lucan
