Mountpark €40 million logistics warehouse will be developed as two units

Mountpark have announced receipt of planning permission for revisions to their €40m logistics and warehousing development at Baldonnell.

The developer submitted revisions which will see the site developed as two units, as opposed to three.

The new larger unit, Unit B, will have a gross external floor area of 203,500 sq. ft.

The decision to revise the project layout arose from engagement with potential tenants. Construction of the new unit will begin in early November.

The Mountpark site is located at Barneys Lane on the N7 – Naas Road – Ireland’s premier logistics corridor, between Casement Aerodrome and Baldonnell Business Park, conveniently located for access to the M50, Outer Ring Road, N81 and N4.

This site is close to a number of key business parks including Citywest, Grange Castle and Greenogue.

Work at the Mountpark Baldonnell site began earlier in the year, with MAC as lead contractor.

Unit A will be completed in the next couple of weeks and Unit B shall be constructed before mid-August 2019.  When open, the Mountpark Baldonnell project will be a flagship development for South County Dublin.

Mountpark Managing Director, Philip O’Callaghan said: “We are delighted to have received our latest approval from South Dublin County Council for the Mountpark Baldonnell project.

“We have made excellent progress in constructing Unit A and this consent allows us to build a second unit which will meet the clearly expressed needs of Ireland’s logistics and warehousing community.

Since bringing the Mountpark Baldonnell project to market, we have been very happy with but not surprised by the response.

“When we selected this site, we were confident of its unrivalled ability to serve the Dublin and eastern regional market. Mountpark would, once again, like to thank our neighbours, members of the community and South Dublin County Council for their support during the development of this project.”

Mountpark Logistics EU, a joint venture between UK based Mountpark and the USAA Realco company of America, specialises in building logistics centres.
