NLN are Ireland’s largest non-governmental education and training organisation – the training and employment division of the Rehab Group.

Applications to the NLN, takes into account the personal and social circumstances of service users (including people with an illness or disability, job seekers, unemployed).

Fully funded through the Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) and the HSE, most students receive an allowance for participating, and existing allowances, such as disability, are not affected during a student’s involvement in courses.

Due to their strong links with State bodies and employers, NLN offer participants as much support as possible – through nationally recognised qualifications including QQI, ECDL, and City and Guilds.

The open day was hosted to build up the NLN’s existing network of employer’s, who enable service users to gain valuable work experience and develop their skills.

Riona Finn, Marketing NLN said: “The open day at Kylemore was for professionals, that might refer people to us, like schools, organisations, or community groups. Niall Comber is the new manager in Kylemore.

“The Kylemore centre is similar to the Tallaght NLN centre in Broomhill Road. Here, there are five main courses – Vocational Skills Foundation (QQI level 3), IT and Office Administration (QQI level 4), Fresh Start (QQI level 3), Employer Based Training (QQI level 4), and ACCESS (HSE programme).”
