New application lodged for 26 apartments at Finches pub site

A NEW application has been lodged for the construction of 26 apartments and a new public house at Finches on Neilstown Road in Clondalkin.

Located at Neilstown Shopping Centre, the mixed development plan will comprise of the demolition of the existing single-storey public house and the construction of a four-storey apartment block within the footprint of the site.

The proposed 26 apartments will be made up of four one-bedroom units and 22 two-bedroom units along with a smaller pub at ground level.

There are plans for a car-park for 12 cars that includes one disabled space along with bin stores and bicycle stands at ground level.

All apartments will have balconies/terraces and communal areas while the first floor will have a courtyard above car-park and third floor will have roof terraces for apartments.

There are streetscape proposals within site boundaries to facilitate and enhance the public realm.

Finches withdrew an application in August this year that included plans for 29 apartments with 14 car-parking spaces.

The Finches pub went up for sale in 2018 and Morrissey’s, the pub and hotel specialists, were seeking offers with an auction scheduled for April of that year.

Morrissey’s were later acquired by real estate agents Lisney, and it is understood that Old Nangor Road Ltd then purchased the Finches property.
