New challenge for Tallaght’s Tracey with Slimming World group

A TALLAGHT woman who lost five stone and had her wedding featured on Don’t Tell The Bride is preparing for her next challenge as a Slimming World consultant.
Tracey Quinn, whose wedding was featured on the RTE show last December, struggled with her weight for most of her life before embarking on a weight loss transformation.
The mother-of-one told The Echo: “I was always overweight in primary school, secondary school and college, I was always the biggest in the class.
“It was something I had accepted.
“I had a confident personality but I hated the way I looked.”
Tracey avoided getting pictures taken of herself, unless they were selfies which were taken from a high angle to conceal her weight.
When she saw a photo of herself in a bikini when she was on holidays she was shocked, and this prompted her to embark on her weight loss journey.
“I couldn’t believe the way I looked in the bikini, I had a completely different image of myself in my head.”
After taking part in Slimming World Tracey achieved her phenomenal weight loss, and is now a size ten.
She added: “When you’ve lost a bit of weight you get addicted to the positive feeling.
“I think, for me, I never realised the correlation between feeling stressed and anxious, and food.
“When I started dealing with my emotions I became less addicted to food and more addicted to feeling good.”
Now the lifestyle blogger, whose wedding was held in Tallaght Stadium, is hoping to help other people through her new role as a Slimming World consultant.
“I’ve decided to pursue my dreams of helping other people lose weight and move towards a healthy life,” she said.
Tracey’s Slimming World class will start on Wednesday May 3 in St Joseph’s Special School in Tymon North in Tallaght.
The classes will be every Wednesday at 7.30pm, and you can contact Tracey on 085 147 7748 for more details.
