New Garda Supt named in Clondalkin district
CLONDALKIN Garda Superintendent Anthony Twomey retired this week, after three years in the role at the Dublin 22 station.
Meanwhile, An Garda Síochána confirmed that Steven Mullen is the new Superintendent for the Clondalkin Garda District on promotion.
The Echo understands the new Superintendent Steven Mullen was scheduled to take over in Clondalkin Garda Station on Monday.
Supt Twomey was appointed to Clondalkin in 2020, as the District Officer for the DMR West Division, which has it’s divisional HQ in Blanchardstown and also covers Finglas.
Supt Twomey is also a National Executive Committee member of the Association of Garda.
He took over from former Clondalkin Supt Peter Burke in 2020.
Prior to this, Supt James Dalton, was in the role for 18 months.
Former garda Superintendent Brendan Connolly was in charge in Clondalkin from 2012 to 2019, before retiring.
