New-look Eanna are confident of good run

EANNA head into their third season in the Men’s Super League having made numerous changes in the summer and they are determined to improve on their results over the last two years.

The Rathfarnham club has brought in a new head coach in the hugely experienced Pat Glover, who, four years after finishing a playing career that spanned no less than 14 seasons in the top ranks of Irish men’s basketball, has chosen Eanna as the place to begin his top level coaching career.

The team has strengthened vastly with the recruitment of Spanish pair, 6’8 post player, Garny Garcia and 6’5 guard Carlos Perez who complement the American DBS Scholarship signings of 6’3 Guard Tamron Manning and 6’7 Post Player, Mlynue Reeves.

What’s more, Eanna also welcomes back big men, Conor Gallagher and Ben Arulogun.

“There is a quiet confidence in the dressing room as the players themselves are keenly aware of the potential this team has,” said Eanna player Ciaran McEvilly.

“However, the guys who have been around for the last few years will certainly not allow complacency to set in as we finally attempt to make a serious impression on the league.

“Pre-season has seen fine performances from many players and the depth of talent and experience in this squad should hopefully see us competing with the big names in the league” he added.
