WORK is currently underway on the development of a property located on Main Street, Tallaght, to provide a new residential support service for Galro Ltd.

Galro Ltd applied for the planning permission back in March, and were granted permission to retain the demolition of a single-storey extension to the back of the house and to complete construction of a new two-storey extension to the rear of the property.

It was granted permission by An Bord Pleanála back in April, after an application for leave to appeal by the owners of a neighbouring property was refused.

In the application, Joe Sheahan, director of Galro Ltd said: “Galro is an organisation that provides residential support services for adults and children with disabilities.

“We have a number of residential properties in Longford, Westmeath, Laois and Kildare. These residential facilities provide much-needed services for vulnerable adults or vulnerable children who for some reason cannot be support by family members.

“We intend to use the property at 512 Tallaght Village to give families from the Tallaght area who have children with disabilities a break during the day and sometimes overnight in crisis.”
