NINA for Life annual sunrise walk

NINA for Life annual sunrise walk

The community-based suicide awareness group NINA for Life will be holding their annual sunrise walk in the early hours of this Saturday, May 11.

NINA, which stands for Need Information Need Advice, was set up by the family of Christopher Haas, a young man from Kingswood who died by suicide in 2013, to educate and promote suicide awareness.

The group is asking people in the area to join the walk to “help us spread a message of hope”.

All who are interested in taking part in the walk are invited to convene at Kingswood Community Centre at 4am, with the walk starting at 4.15am, and participants are asked to bring either a candle or a flashlight.

Registration is €15 for adults and €8 for children, and the price includes the walk, a t-shirt, a breakfast roll and tea and coffee after the event.

The closing date for registrations is this Friday, May 10, and you can register with any NINA committee member or by messaging the NINA for Life Suicide Awareness Facebook page.

All of the money raised from the event will go back into education and creating awareness around positive mental health.
