‘No issues’ from music festival at Weston

SOUTH DUBLIN County Council say they are not aware of any significant issues arising out of the two-night music festival held in Weston Aerodrome over Halloween.

The SDCC were responding to a motion put down by Councillor Ed O’Brien at last week’s Lucan area meeting of SDCC.

Cllr O’Brien had proposed “to ask the Chief Executive to report on the recent concerts held in Weston Aerodrome and, in particular, the impact on neighbouring estates, traffic management and any other matters arising from these concerts which might inform the event management of future concerts.”

The council replied that the concerts at Weston “required no license from South Dublin County Council”.

The council added: “The event organisers agreed a Traffic Management plan with An Garda Síochana which addressed issues such as access to residential areas, onsite parking, emergency vehicle access etc. While no formal close out meetings have yet taken place, the council is not aware of any significent issues arising on either night.”
