SOUTH DUBLIN County Council are to call An Garda Síochána to enforce the illegal parking of “on sale” vehicles on the footpath on the Lucan Road. This comes following a motion tabled by Councillor William Lavelle at last weeks Lucan Area Committee meeting of SDCC.
As part of the motion, Cllr Lavelle called for “A more stringent enforcement approach to the parking of vehicles ‘for sale’ on footpaths along Lucan Road”.
The council replied that “in relation to the parking of vehicles for sale on the footpath, this is an offence under Section 36 (2) (i) of the Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations1997”.
The Council added: “It will be referred to An Garda Síochána for enforcement.”
