THE Institute of Directors (IoD) Ireland hosted their awards ceremony at Thomas Prior Hall, Clayton Hotel in Ballsbridge, reports Merle van Erve.

The awards ceremony was for the presentations of Certificates and Diplomas to the IoD members, who have passed their exams in Company Direction.

One of the award winners was Noelle Condon, CFO at NAMA, who is originally from Lucan with three other members receiving special recognition.

These included Gillian McNamara, Head of Legal UK & Ireland and company secretary, director at L.M. Ericsson Limited, Tom Loughman, senior VP of Technical Operations, Iterum Therapeutics plc and David O’Mahony, global finance director at DePuy Synthes awarded.

Tom Loughman was awarded with the second annual Tom Byrne Award.

This reward recognises excellence in academic achievements. It also recognises individual participation in contribution to and engagement with the Chartered Director Programme.

“It is important for organisations to maintain the highest standards of good governance. Further education and continuous professional development play a key role in applying such standards, so I offer my congratulations to all who successfully completed their Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction.

“The Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction are important qualifications in their own right and also key milestones that enable the recipients to proceed on their journey to become Chartered Directors,’’ said Maura Quinn CDir, Chief Executive at Institute of Directors Ireland.
