Oakview childcare services invites community to support Christmas charity drive

AN EARLY years service in Tallaght and Clondalkin is inviting those living and working locally to support their drive for the homeless community this Christmas.

Oakview Childcare has services based in South Dublin County Council’s offices in Tallaght and Clondalkin and is also based on the TU Dublin Tallaght campus.

After their Christmas party was cancelled this year, the Oakview team in Clondalkin decided to redirect the party fund into buying items for those in need.

All other Oakview services, which are based in Dublin, Meath, Cork and Tralee, have also come on board and are together appealing to their communities to support the drive.

According to Dayna Cunningham, Area Manager for Oakview Village Childcare in Clondalkin, the team strongly believes in doing its part and are happy to be in a position to give to those less fortunate this festive season.

The communities of Tallaght and Clondalkin has been invited to make donations, which include the below items;

Food and drinks, hats, scarfs, gloves, thermal socks, sleeping bags, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, baby supplies, small toys, books, reusable containers like water bottles and lunch boxes and pet food.

The team will be delivering the items donated to members of the homeless community on Thursday afternoon, December 23.

“We would be very thankful if you could join us on this initiative and would be grateful for any sized donation”, Dayna said.

Any individuals, groups or businesses who would like to donate items and support the drive locally are encouraged to call Dayna on 086 1709823 or email dayna@oakviewhouse.ie and a drop-off or collection can be arranged.
