On the Map Freestyle: Show continues journey promoting Irish Talent

“I rap about the real pain I have gone through as a young child to put a message out there so people don’t feel alone,” shares Jukebox from Carlow, who featured in episode 3 of the acclaimed series ‘On the Map Freestyle’ by media platform Ollys Media TV, after their previous two episodes saw the artist Bollard representing Cavan and Fay’d showcasing Tallaght’s musical prowess, reports Ryan Butler.

Building on the success of the first two episodes, which took viewers on musical journeys through Cavan and Tallaght, this latest installment proved to be a captivating celebration of Carlow’s vibrant music scene.

From the verdant hills of Cavan to the bustling streets of Tallaght, ‘On the Map Freestyle’ has captured the essence of Irish music, one county at a time.

Both of those first two episodes garnered acclaim and were aired on RTÉ 2FM and Ollys TV, reaching audiences far and wide.

Furthermore, Ollys TV’s commitment to promoting Irish talent was underscored when Tallaght artist Fay’d had the honor of presenting at RTÉ Radio 1’s 50th anniversary on John Creedon’s show on December 14.

This recognition further solidifies the impact of ‘On the Map Freestyle’ on the national music scene.

Joining the ranks of esteemed artists like Fay’d are fellow Tallaght natives Selló and Fabu D (The Black Paddy), who have also made appearances on the show, adding to the diverse and dynamic lineup of talent featured on ‘On the Map Freestyle.’

“We are thrilled to continue our journey across Ireland, shining a spotlight on the incredible talent that our country has to offer,” says Olly Gazal, founder of Ollys TV.

“Episode 3 in County Carlow promises to be a memorable showcase of the rich musical heritage and talent that define this county.”

Jukebox, also known as Paraigh Curran, has been making waves in the Irish music scene with his unique blend of authenticity and raw lyricism.

Born and bred in Carlow, Jukebox’s journey in music began over a decade ago, amidst personal challenges and a relentless pursuit of his passion.

With influences ranging from Mazza L20 to Bugzey Malone, two “storytelling rappers,” Jukebox brings a fresh perspective to the table, offering listeners a message of hope and resilience.

His tracks, born out of personal experiences and struggles, resonate deeply with audiences, earning him a dedicated following.

When asked about the processes he goes through to prepare for performing, Paraigh states he would “usually start by picking any beat that would first come up and start doing my own little freestyle to get into the flow of things.

The bars that make the most sense and that I like the most I write into my notes.”

His favourite part about making songs is how much effort and time he puts into it.

He also likes that he speaks about his personal experiences that he has gone through in life and hopes to inspire other people.

“No matter how much someone goes through, you can always stick to something that makes you happy.”

Padraigh goes on to state that it would be a “great experience” to tour South Dublin and “let people hear what other people can bring to the table.”

He first heard about Ollys TV through Bollard, who got him in touch with B. Sibs, whom he would like to thank along with all of the Ollys TV crew, all of the camera crew, and everyone who turned up to make episode 3 the “best it could be.”

He would also like to thank everyone who showed up for the episode to show the “great community” they have, and he appreciates all of the “support of the great people” around him.

The anticipation was palpable as viewers eagerly awaited Episode 3, where Carlow’s vibrant music scene took center stage.

With Ollys TV leading the way, ‘On the Map Freestyle’ continues to illuminate Ireland, one county at a time.

The music video is available to view on YouTube, having launched on May 18.
