One man dies and three people hospitalised after serious crash in Dublin

One man has died and three people have been taken to hospital after a serious road traffic collision in Rush, County Dublin last night.

Gardaí in Lusk are investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Skerries Road, Rush near the intersection with St Catherine’s Estate.

A garda spokesperson said: “The collision between two cars occurred at approximately 11.30pm.

“Gardaí and Emergency services attended the scene.

“The male (35) driver and sole occupant of one car was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the mortuary at James Connolly Memorial Hospital.

“The three occupants (one woman aged 24 and two men aged 45 and 28) of the second car were injured and taken to Beaumont and James Connolly Memorial hospitals and their conditions are described as serious but non-life threatening.”

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
