DENTAL services are being delivered to elderly people in nursing homes via a pioneering service by Terenure company Dental Tech Group

Last year, the award winning group visited more than 120 nursing homes in South Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Meath and Louth, treating over 7,000 residents.

Their mobile team come fully equipped in PPE and ready to provide dental and denture care to residents.

Clondalkin dental practitioner Bevin Mahon, co-owner and Managing Director of Dental Tech, has overseen numerous achievements with the group.

“Our portable dental and denture services in the nursing homes and in elderly people’s homes is our key focus,” said Ms Mahon (43), who is originally from Templeogue.

“Our aim is to change the lives of the aging population of Ireland through Dental Tech’s dental and denture solutions so that residents can eat, talk and socialise with dignity and confidence even from their homes, not only in Dublin and surrounding counties but expanding nationwide.

“It is paramount that residents have check-ups especially if they have not been able to access any dental services over the past three months. We are here and ready to come to assist with their oral hygiene.”

The service has proved invaluable during Covid-19, quarantine and social distancing – minimising unnecessary trips outside the nursing home for elderly residents.

Dental Tech Group services can be booked by individuals or by family members.

The company has been in business since 1993 and has two divisions – Dental Tech Group and Dental Tech Laboratory.

In 2012 they created the Mobile/Portable Dental and Denture Service for nursing homes and in 2016 extended this to the home care sector.

In 2019 Bevin won a place on the EY Winning Women Europe 2019 and 2020 programme, and received two nominations for the application to the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2020.
