Over €1m in parking fines issued since 2022

The Council have issued parking fines worth over one million euro since 2022.

This is what the Council informed Councillors at last week’s full Council meeting following a request from Cllr Trevor Gilligan.

In 2022 almost €450,000 worth of tickets were issued, while in 2023 this figure came to over €540,000 and in 2024 over €156,000 worth of tickets have been issued to date (April 19).

However there is some disparity between the value of the tickets issued and the revenue collected.

In 2022, over €342,000 was collected while in 2023 this figure was over €418,000 and in 2024 over €98,000 has been collected to date.  In 2022 just over 9500 tickets were issued while in 2023 this figure was over 11,000 tickets and in 2024 over 3300 tickets have been issued to date.
