Parade goes from strength to strength
THE vibrant theme for this year’s Clondalkin St Patrick’s Day Parade is ‘Diversity – The United Colours of Clondalkin’, with the aim of making it “the most colourful and diverse parade yet”.
Independent councillor Francis Timmons, who is organising the parade, released the details of the theme over the weekend.
Cllr Timmons said: “I am delighted to announce on behalf of the committee that the theme for this year is ‘Diversity – The United Colours of Clondalkin’.
“The parade grows from strength to strength each year and is growing into a much-loved annual event.
“The parade is an opportunity to showcase all that is good about Clondalkin and the organisers are keen to show residents, both new and older, what groups are in our area.
“We are also calling out for funds and volunteers. This year we are asking all those taking part to add as much colour as possible to their entry.
“We want to make it the most colourful and diverse parade yet!”
The parade will start at 2.30pm on St Patrick’s Day in Clondalkin village, and the grand marshal will be announced in the coming weeks.
