Parades help showcase all that’s good in our community

CLONDALKIN St Patrick’s Day parade will start from 2.30pm on Friday, March 17.

Organiser Cllr Francis Timmons said it is shaping up to be a great parade this year.

“We would like to draw peoples’ attention to road closures from 1pm on Old Nangor Road, and other roads from 1.30pm for duration of the parade.

“Also we advise anyone with prams or buggy’s to avoid Main Street and Tower Road as they are normally packed on the day, and passing through is extremely difficult,” said Cllr Timmons.

“We are providing a sensory viewing area for children with additional needs at Qs car park and Bru Chronan and an area for wheelchair’s and mobility impaired at Clondalkin Civic office.

“Our aim is to be as inclusive as possible and get as many as possible to view the parade safely.

“The theme is the united colours of Clondalkin and we hope people coming to view and others taking part come out in lots of colour. It’s a great opportunity to showcase all that is good about our great community and village.”

Grand Marshal is rapper SELLÓ.

Live Music from 2pm.

Various superhero’s and characters will walk around giving out lollies and sweets and blowing bubbles from 2pm.

K & G Funfair – Tuthills & Gunpowder carpark.
