FOR THE first time this year, Partnerships around the country will be nominating clients who have set up their own business using the Enterprise Allowance schemes.

This includes the Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership (BCP), who are inviting eligible clients who availed of the allowance in their catchment area (between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2015) to apply to be included.

BCP will nominate two local businesses to a Dublin Regional competition on June 30, which will in turn, nominate three businesses to represent the region at National awards in September 30.

The awards are hosted by the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN), umbrella body for Local Development Companies (LDC’s).

BCP are inviting enterprise clients to put their businesses forward for consideration.

Audrey Coyne, Enterprise Development Officer BCP said: “These awards will be a great opportunity for businesses to showcase and publicise themselves. These are high profile events and are expected to attract significant media attention.

“This presents a unique opportunity for a small business to gain positive exposure to a much bigger market than they could normally reach”.

The awards are designed to showcase and acknowledge achievements of formerly unemployed people who have been facilitated by their LDC in availing of the Back to Work or Short Term Enterprise Allowances.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded at Regional and National levels.

Entry forms for the awards can be downloaded at www.ballyfermotpartnership.ie, from the new D10 Business Directory website at d10business.ie, or by calling in to BCP’s office at 4 Drumfinn Park, Ballyfermot.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday May 20.
