In 1993, Patrick was struck down with Viral Cardiomyopathy when he was 11 years old, and says it was the staff at The Mater Hospital that saved his life with a heart transplant. 25 years later, Patrick’s life was saved again by the staff at The Mater when he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Ahead of the fundraiser, Patrick said: “Without the Mater Hospital I would be dead. I owe my life to them so any way I can raise funds I will.”

With over 40 donations, Patrick raised €1,233 for The Mater Foundation, exceeding the initial target of €1000.
