People encouraged to support Social Circle annual charity ball

THE annual charity Heart of Autism Ball will take to the floor of the Lucan Spa Hotel this April 28, with money raised going to Tallaght’s Social Circle and Saplings Special School for Children with Autism.

Organised by parent-led group Social Circle, an organisation dedicated to the provision of social, sporting and cultural activities for local children on the autism spectrum, the gala ball is open to all families who use the services and the wider community.

Run voluntarily by parents Mairead Mekki, Tallaght, and Laura Hegarty, Walkinstown, Social Circle has more than 120 member families, who engage in a number of weekly activities, such as art, Lego clubs, music therapy, science, football and swimming – with families also enjoying monthly trips and camps.

A list of the activities provided by Social Circle for the months of April, May and June are available on the group’s Facebook page.

To support the continuation of these activities and the work of Saplings Special School in Kill, members of the community are invited to attend the red-carpeted, prosecco-on-arrival ball on Saturday, April 28 at 6.30pm.

Tickets for the casino-themed evening cost €65 and include a four-course meal, music, a late bar, spot prizes and a special guest appearance from comedian Emma Doran.
