A single person applying for a one-bedroom apartment in Airton Plaza “would need a net disposable income of €4,000 per month,” according to a councillor.
At the March Council meeting, Tallaght Councillor Niamh Whelan (SF) called on the Department of Housing to review the Cost Rental Scheme which is intended to provide secure, long term tenancies at more affordable prices, but still leaves out too many.
