Picking the best gear for camping, hiking and fishing
By Maurice Garvey
HAVING lunch whilst you shop isn’t a new concept, but having lunch in a store which provides a range of outdoor equipment certainly is – and it is a concept that exists at the Outdoor Depot in Tallaght.
Located at The Arena Complex, behind the Maldron Hotel and opposite Tallaght Stadium, the Outdoor Depot carries a unique range of goods, but it is also home to Hunters Café.
Serving all-day breakfasts, lunch, cakes and coffee/tea, Hunters Café is a place where customers or visitors often pop in from doing their shopping and business elsewhere, to enjoy a comfortable view of the interesting range of goods the Outdoor Depot has to offer.
Under new management, Outdoor Depot Manager David Gannon, says the store has something for everyone, and can provide the perfect Christmas gifts for the festive season.
The store is a major stockist of camping, hiking and fishing gear, and is also a licenced firearms dealer.
Some of the quality brands available instore are Swiss Army, Leatherman, Zippo, Led Lenser torches, and Grisport Footware.
Free parking at the Woodies carpark is a big plus for Outdoor Depot customers, who can avoid the hassle prevalent at larger shopping centres in the run-up to Christmas.
Open seven days a week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, on Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and on Sunday from 10am to 5pm – nine staff members are on hand at the Outdoor Depot to cater for your every need.
