Plans for 514 apartments on Good Counsel lands

LUCAN-BASED developer Shannon Homes Construction will hold a pre-planning consultation with An Bord Pleanála with a view to lodging a fast-track planning application for the development of 514 apartments and a crèche at the former Good Counsel lands in Ballyboden.

The developer lodged an application for a pre-planning consultation with An Bord Pleanála (ABP) last month, and provision for all associated site works is included in the application.

The proposed development has been described by the applicant as a Strategic Housing Development (SHD), which means that developers who are planning to construct substantial residential developments in the form of SHDs can apply directly to ABP under the fast-track system after consulting with the local authority.
