Plans for Gaelscoil campus in Clondalkin gets the green light

PLANS for a shared Gaelscoil campus at Coláiste Chillian on the Old Nangor Road in Clondalkin, have been granted permission by South Dublin County Council.

The development will see the provision of two new primary school buildings for Gaelscoil na Camóige and Gaelcoil Chluain Dolcáin, plus a PE hall for Coláiste Chillian and associated siteworks.

The existing schools will remain in operation during the works, in what is to be a shared gaelscoil campus.

Proposals include construction of two new three-storey primary school buildings with 16 classrooms each.

The development will also include two new pedestrian access routes, with one located on New Nangor Road and another located at the junction of New Nangor and Old Nangor Road.

A new vehicle entrance and exit onto the Old Nangor Road will provide a one-way vehicle route with a bus/vehicle set-down zone.

The existing entrance to Coláiste Chillian is to be converted to an in-only entrance, two new hard play courts and play space at each primary school.

Additional site works include landscaping, bicycle and car parking spaces, and internal refurbishments to Coláiste Chillian to facilitate the reintegration of teaching accommodation upon Gaelcoil Chluain Dolcáin’s move to the new school.

An existing temporary changing room will be removed to provide accessible parking spaces and associated works.

The plans were granted permission by the council on April 4.
