Plans for two-storey detached temporary accommodation at Coláiste Cois Life
THE DUBLIN and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board has applied for planning permission for a two-storey detached temporary accommodation structure which will house nine classrooms on the site of Coláiste Cois Life on Castle Road in Lucan.
The submission details plans for the temporary accommodation structure, called Block D, to contain seven classrooms, one science classroom, one technology classroom and toilet blocks which will be connected to the existing foul and storm water sewers.
Plans for a single-storey detached temporary accommodation structure, which will contain one office, also form part of the application for planning permission.
It is proposed that the conversion of a classroom within an existing block in the school could form a store and an access corridor to the proposed Block D, while also containing a covered walkway between the existing block and the proposed Block D.
DDLETB has also applied for retention of Block C, a single-storey detached accommodation structure which contains two classrooms, one home economics room and an art room.
The application for retention also includes the steps, access ramps, fencing and the existing foul and storm sewers associated with Block C. The submission also includes plans for additional car parking, which it is proposed will be situated to the north west of the site.
A decision is due from South Dublin County Council by June 13.
