Plans have been lodged for 21 new homes in Newcastle

PLANS for a housing development in Newcastle have been lodged with South Dublin County Council.

Applicants Pavement Homes Ltd, are seeking permission to build 21 homes at a site located at Drumlonagher, Main Street, Newcastle.

Proposals include the construction of 21 three-bed houses, and construction of a two storey building with retail unit at ground floor level, and two apartments at first floor level.

The plans also contain proposals for the construction of another two storey corner building with two retail units – cafe and convenience – at ground floor level with two apartments at first floor level.

Plans also contain the construction of a two metre high boundary wall to east and west boundaries and and timber panel fences between the dwellings.

Developers hope to construct a market square to serve the proposed development and local area, build access road and footpaths, and car parking facilities to serve the proposed development.

Plans also contain the construction of a foul sewer network to serve the proposed development to connect into the existing foul sewer network, and ancillary site works.

A decision on the planning application is due from the council by March 13.
