Plans to build 127 apartments at old warehouse and factory at Cherry Orchard Industrial Estate
PLANS for the construction of 127 apartments at Cherry Orchard Industrial Estate and Kennelsfort Road Upper have been submitted to South Dublin County Council.
Developer AAI Palmerstown Limited’s plans for the site include the demolition of the existing warehouse and factory structure on site to make way for the residential development.
The proposal consists of 55 one-bedroom apartments, 41 two-bedroom apartments and 31 three-bedroom apartments housed across four apartment blocks.
Vehicular access to the proposed development will be provided via an entrance from the existing estate road as accessed from Kennelsfort Road Upper.
The proposal includes improvement works on the northern side of the junction at the estate road/Kennelsfort Road Upper, and new pedestrian/cycle paths on Kennelsfort Road Upper and on the estate road to the south of the site.
Provision of a controlled pedestrian crossing on Kennelsfort Road Upper to the west, as part of enabling infrastructure, is included.
The proposed development provides for outdoor amenity areas, landscaping, external podium lift, under-podium and on-street car parking, bicycle parking, and bin stores.
An ESB substation, public lighting, roof mounted solar panels and all ancillary site development works are included.
The proposal was lodged as a Large Scale Residential Development (LRD) application and submissions can be made on the proposal until June 12 as part of the LRD process.
