Primary school enrolment decreased by over 500

Primary school enrolment in South Dublin has decreased by over 500 in the past year, contributing to more than a tenth of the largest national decline in recent years.

Primary school enrolment in schools within the borders of South Dublin County Council has decreased by 570 students in the previous two years, 11.3 per cent of the 6,470 less students enrolled in primary-level education across the Republic of Ireland.
