Racist graffiti in Tallaght described as “vile and ignorant”

Residents and members of the public have condemned racist graffiti which was spotted in Tallaght this week.

Luas users shared images of the graffiti on the building which arches over the Luas red line before the tram reaches the Square shopping centre stop.

One resident who lives in the neighbouring building described it as “disgusting and mindless”, while a member of the public said it was “vile and ignorant”.

Echo.ie contacted South Dublin County Council in relation to the graffiti and its removal, with a spokesperson saying: “We are aware of racist graffiti on the Luas tunnel at the Tallaght Luas stop and are making arrangements with the private property owner for removal as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information in relation to the racist graffiti can contact Tallaght Garda station on 01-6666000.
