Olympics 24: Rhasidat’s proud mammy flying the Tallaght AC flag
PROUD mammy Ade Adeleke will be proudly flying the Tallaght Athletics Club flag at the Olympic 400m final in the Stade de France in Paris.
Ade’s daughter Rhasidat will become the first Irish woman to contest an Olympic 400m final tonight in Paris.
The 21-year-old from Tallaght takes to the track at 7pm Irish time aiming to be in the mix, but the task ahead will be far from straightforward, with a particularly high calibre field vying for podium places.

Rhasidat, who has won the Active South Dublin Sport Star of the Year in association with The Echo, South Dublin County Council and the Plaza Hotel in 2018 and 2022, will be cheered on by a big travelling Irish support.
Whether it’s the Tallaght Athletic Club track on the Greenhills Road or Santry Stadium, Ade is always out supporting Rhasidat and she will be in Paris this evening with her other daughter Lati, son Abdullahi and members of Tallaght AC including Cecil Johnston.

“There is great excitement building over here in Paris and I’m sure there will be great build up in our clubhouse all evening,” club official Cecil Johnston told The Echo who is in Paris for the games.
“We are getting great support from everyone, the local community in Tallaght and the entire athletics community around the country,”
