Road closed following serious road traffic accident in Tallaght

GARDAI are this afternoon still at the scene of a serious road traffic accident that occurred at Fortunestown Way in Tallaght this morning.

Emergency services attended the scene of the accident, which occurred on the outer link road close to the Tallaght Leisure Centre around 11am.

Roads in the area are still closed and motorists are advised to avoid the Tallaght bypass and surrounding areas due to traffic diversions.

A Garda statement release to The Echo this afternoon said: “Gardai and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision that occurred on Fortunestown Way, Tallaght, Dublin 24, at approximately 11am this morning, Friday 8th September 2023.

“The road is presently closed and local traffic diversions are in place”.
