Robberies from establishments soar by 150 per cent in Clondalkin

ROBBERY from establishments is up 150 per cent in the Clondalkin garda district, according to figures from the latest Joint Policing Committee report.

The latest statistics show there were 15 robberies from establishments compared to just six during the corresponding period in 2015.

Robbery from persons was up 125 per cent – from four incidents in 2015 to nine this year.

However, burglaries and criminal damage have decreased significantly – by 48 per cent and 15 per cent respectively.
Burglaries dropped from 197 to 102 burglaries in the corresponding period this year.

Criminal damage decreased by 15 per cent to 129 cases this year, whilst drug seizures also decreased by 20 per cent – to 12 incidents.

Ronanstown Garda Station also reported a decrease in major criminal activities, including burglary, which is down by 50 per cent, to 55 incidents.

The only significant increase in the Ronanstown district was theft from shop – up 33 per cent to 122 incidents, and unauthorised taking of pedal bicycles – up 100 per cent to 14 incidents in 2016.
