Round Tower U8 girls’ Communion training

THE Round Tower under 8 girls’ football and camogie team had great fun at their Communion training party in Monastery Road on Friday.

While not all the girls made their Communion this year, all the team celebrated together.

The team played some football, some camogie and then had great fun with the parachute.

All the girls went home very happy with their goodie bags after a memorable night. This tradition started some years ago and is a regular fixture on the calendar. The under 8 (born 2016) girls train on Tuesday and Friday nights playing both codes with matches on a Sunday morning.

The team have thirty girls playing under 8s Go Games and are always looking to increase our numbers. The growth in girls sport in the club has been phenomenal over the past decade.

Round Tower GAA club now field girls’ teams at every age group in both codes from under 8 to minor. This growth has been facilitated by all the volunteers in the club.
