Rovers share insights with business community preparing for the future
THE sporting and business world collaborated in a meeting of minds at a special event this week in Tallaght.
Members of South Dublin Chamber attended a meeting at Tallaght Stadium which showcased the benefits of partnership with Shamrock Rovers FC.
Rovers are well established in Tallaght at this stage, since first playing at the council-owned stadium in 2009, and are the most successful club in the Republic with potential for substantial growth.
South Dublin Chamber said: “Members enjoyed a great morning at our Chamber Connects in Shamrock Rovers. John Martin, CEO Shamrock Rovers shared insights into their role in the community with young people and preparing them for a future on and off the pitch.
“Members also had a chance to network and hear from companies that partner with Shamrock Rovers, who spoke about the benefits of supporting such a renowned club from a business perspective. Huge thanks to John, Rían, and the rest of the team from shamrock Rovers who made this event a great success.”
South Dublin County Council recently invested approximately €11.5m into Tallaght Stadium, which includes the addition of a new fourth stand at the bypass end which will increase capacity to a 10,000-seater.
Upgrades to the stadium include new corporate, media and hospitality areas.
In April, the council agreed terms with Shamrock Rovers for a new 15-year licence for the use of Tallaght Stadium.
Terms include a licence fee of €190,000 per annum plus VAT.
