Rovers U12s complete the treble

SHAMROCK Rovers U12s completed a brilliant treble at the weekend when they secured the DDSL Tom Kavanagh Cup.

Having already won the All-Ireland Cup for the first time and the U12 DDSL Premier Division, the Hoops bagged their third trophy when they overcame the challenge of St Joseph’s 3-0 in the Tom Kavanagh decider.

Goals from Joe Manicle, Eoin O’Boyle and Chidozie Chad made sure of the title for Rovers and successfully lift their third trophy of the season.

The Hoops also secured the DDSL Premier last week when they easily overcame the challenge of Swords 10-0.

They have a strong panel to choose from including the likes of top scorers Ben Nolan and Harry Rahill, midfielder Journas Jakas and Joe Manicle on the left wing.

“We are delighted with the team this year, the progress they have made is brilliant,” remarked Shamrock Rovers Darren Murray who runs the team with Dave Kelly and Tomas O’Reilly.

“We train three days a week and it’s a lot of commitment which we get from both players and parents, and we are delighted to round off the season with another trophy,” added Darren.

Most of this team are playing a year up at U13 grade and they are also in with a shout of another trophy as they need one point from three games to claim the league crown.
