By Mark Keane
Met Eireann's Status Yellow national wind warning will stay in place until 6pm today due to winds associated with Storm Diana.
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is asking motorists to exercise caution as gale force winds will reach speeds of 55 to 65 km/h and gusts of 90 to 110 km/h today.
Winds will reach speeds of 55 to 65 km/h
Motorists are advised to beware of objects being blown onto the road, falling debris and to expect the unexpected as vehicles may veer across the road as a result.
The RSA has recommended that pedestrians and cyclists take extra care as a sudden gust of wind could blow them into the path of oncoming vehicles.

Very windy today with some severe gusts associated with Storm Diana. South to southeast winds will be strongest across the southern half of the country at first this morning but the strong winds will extend nationwide by the early afternoon, veering southwest in direction. pic.twitter.com/WZwshXUZo7
