Safety Squad enjoys success at Micro Business Awards

TALLAGHT business Safety Squad picked up an award at the annual Micro Business Awards in Limerick on April 13.

Established by Kingswood native Rob Roe in 2016, the SME beat 14 other Irish businesses to receive the accolade of best social media presence.

Set up with zero customers three years ago, the business specialises in safety training and has grown from strength to strength.

Roe, an Occupational Health and Safety graduate from UCD, set up his own venture after 10 years experience running and part owning, two companies in the safety training and fire safety industry.

He offers over 20 courses to meet the health and safety EU requirements in a range of sectors, travelling to clients, among them, businesses, schools, sports clubs and community organisations.

Recently, he delivered a health and safety training course for staff at The Echo in Tallaght.

Safety Squad have a diverse mix of clients, including St Aidan’s Community School Tallaght, The High School, DCU Sports Centre, Failte Ireland, Citywest Hotel, Dawson Hotel, Tramline, PJ Pims, Henry J Lyons Architects, retailers Micheal Kors, and software firm Qualtrics.
