Santa lands in Liffey Valley

This Saturday marks the official start of Christmas at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, with Santa flying in at 4pm to open his grotto.

Santa’s helpers will be in the centre from 1pm, getting ready for the arrival of Santa – and providing family entertainment and festive cheer.

Among the festive fun, Angel and her band will take to the stage to perform Christmas songs from 1.30pm.

At 4pm, the man himself will arrive to open Santa’s grotto, and transform the centre into a winter wonderland by turning on the Christmas lights at 4.15pm.

According to Liffey Valley, families are invited to visit Santa in the centre until 24 December, before he leaves at 5pm on Christmas Eve for his global trip delivering presents ahead of Christmas morning.

The grotto, which costs €10 per child, will operate on walk in basis and no booking is required.

Commenting on the opening of Santa’s Grotto, Centre Director Denis O’Connell said: “Christmas is such a magical time for families of all ages.

“Visiting Santa in the run up to 25 December is a special moment for kids and parents and we’re delighted to add to the festivities by offering Christmas shopping and entertainment for the whole family all under one roof.”
