SDCC to write to TII about security at Adamstown Park & Ride facility

SOUTH DUBLIN County Council are to write to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) about security at the Park & Ride facility at Adamstown.
This follows a motion tabled by Councillor Liona O’Toole at last week’s Lucan Area committee meeting of SDCC.
Cllr O’Toole’s motion requested the Chief Executive “to engage with the relevant stakeholders of the Park & Ride site at Adamstown to discuss the security at this location, including the street lights and to consider installing bike lockers similar to the ones located at Woodies.
“Could the Chief Executive also comment on how many bike lockers have been leased to date?”
The council replied that the Park & Ride facility is not under their control and is owned and operated under the auspices of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
Cllr O’Toole told The Echo: “This is a great facility for the residents of Lucan and Adamstown and I have asked that the council now writes to TII advising them of the situation. The area needs to be examined and the lighting improved to make it safer for all to use.
“The agencies are looking at introducing new bike lockers and the council have identified Adamstown train station as an ideal location, something which I am glad to have proposed.”
