Senator ‘proud as punch’ at Jordanne’s achievement

TALLAGHT actress Jordanne Jones was joined by her proud parents, Senator Lynn Ruane and Alan Jones, on the red carpet at the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival screening of her new film, ‘You Are Not My Mother’, reports Aideen O’Flaherty

The screening was held at the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield last Thursday night, with Senator Ruane saying that herself and Alan were “proud as punch” of their daughter’s latest achievement.

‘You Are Not My Mother’ is a creepy and unsettling psychological thriller deeply rooted in Irish folklore, according to Virgin Media.

The highly-anticipated chiller was directed by Kate Dolan, and it’s been making waves since it debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival to great acclaim.

Jordanne, 21, who is a past pupil of Killinarden Community School, plays the role of Suzanne in the film.

In an interview with The Echo in 2017, aged 16, Jordanne said that she had wanted to act for “as far back as I can remember.

“My grandad would be stuck out the back for hours watching me put on shows for him. That was when I was much younger and would perform a show on my own.

“As I got older, I would spend all day in my nanny’s putting plays on with my cousins. Kind of directing my own little plays. Giving them different parts.”

The talented young performer and Trinity College student already has a notable list of credits to her name. These credits include her performances in the 2016 television series ‘Rebellion’, 2018’s feature film ‘Metal Heart’ and her breakthrough role in Frank Berry’s film ‘I Used to Live Here’ in 2014, among many others.
